I was just thinking how it’s really freakin’ hot outside and how I loathe swimsuit shopping in general.

So very stinking hot outside!

So, knowing that I would rather get a recreational mamogram, than voluntarily go through the soul crushing process of finding a swimsuit, in a style I like, in a price point that won’t kill my budget and that shows off all my attributes while camoflaging my less than pointy parts…

You know what though? That striking red and cream suit comes in a one piece that has just jumped to the front of my want list. Look at the classic detailing and lines. It’s so very figure flattering and fun… yup I’m definitely in deep smit with it.

My only hold out would be due to the fact the tea-coloured water in my lake might not agree with the light coloured trim… So I would have to have one suit for dry land fun and one for swimming silliness. Doesn’t seem like a bad thing to me!

Berni Dexter Vintage Lingerie-icious

Totally Vintage Tuesday

Hello Swimwear and Lingerie Readers.

It has been raining nonstop around here and quite frankly I could really use some sunshine and glamour to throw off my growing cabin fever. Of course I turn to the internet when the world is icky and was cruising around enjoying all the vintage and reproduction vintage lingerie out there. But I was having a really, really, hard time deciding what I wanted to feature for today’s post.

Big dilemma right?

So, I got all introspective and procrastinated and realized that the ones I had narrowed it down to were the ones worn by my favourite retro models. I had the all-powerful “Aha” moment, pulled a Phineas and Ferb and said “I know what we’re going to do today.”

Today’s Totally Vintage Tuesday is brought to you by the letters “B” and “D”, as in the inimitable Bernie Dexter.

You may not know her name, but I would bet dollars to diamonds that you know her face.

She is one of the most popular pin up type of model on the retro scene these days.

Bernie models the clothing and lingerie of some of the coolest Rockabilly and reproduction vintage designers such as; What Katie Did, Lucy B and her her own Berni Dexter collections too.

She brings to mind the fresh faced and unabashed sexuality of the late Betti Page with her trademark bangs stunningly symmetrical features. Her ability to completely engage with the camera allows her to beautifully model the gorgeous lingerie and show off all of the little details that give it that retro feeling.

Berni Dexter has been modeling for the past 20 years and looks just as fabulous as the day she started! She has even branched out into acting and music videos like this one with Drop the Lime!

Vintage Inspired Lingerie a la Lisa Freemont

Welcome back to another edition of Totally Vintage Tuesday.

For today, I was thinking about teaching a little tutorial on how to do the vintage lingerie thing as if you were actually a vintage dame.

Surprise, surprise, when I was cruising around on You Tube for inspiration, I happened to stumble upon a video from the wonderful Lisa Freemont titled; ‘Under Your Vintage Duds’-A Guide to Vintage Inspired Lingerie.

Naturally I thought, who better to speak about vintage lingerie than a true devotee.

La Magia Lingerie is Closing

Hello Swimwear and Lingerie Lovers.

I’m sorry to interrupt our regularly scheduled Wordless Wednesday, but I have just heard that La Magia, a fabulous online retailer of quality made vintage inspired lingerie, is closing down. Acckk!

This is horrible news!

La Magia carried all my favorite brands; Ayten Gasson, What Katie Did, Velda Lauder, Maya Hansen, Kiss Me Deadly, Elegantly Scant, Miss La La Presents, Little Minx, Mimi Holliday, Karen Millen, Burdel, and DM.

They featured the brands and styles that I absolutely adore…. now where can we all go for such fabulous lingerie?

I would like to call for a moment of silence for another entrepreneur that has had to close down… darn, stupid, world-tanking economy.

Well, their clearance page is already fairly picked over, but definitely check it out for the phenomenally low priced deals.

Shop away folks, may as well help them clear their inventory.
