J.Crew Swimsuit Lust

Happy Friday Swimwear and Lingerie buddies.

Sorry for the late posting. Today was my penultimate day of work and my brain is a bit fried from all the loose ends that need tying up.

Today I wanted to show you the swimsuit that is currently intriguing me.

JCrew Off the shoulder tank

Gorgeous isn’t it?

The single shoulder is revealing and offsets the full coverage of the rest of the suit. The ruching is really flattering and as always, I love the colour 🙂

I just wish J.Crew would feed their models up a bit and definitely lay off of the photoshop. It’s pretty ridiculous!

Their thighs will never come close to touching, even if the models scissor their legs. Yet they have serious cleavage… riiiight. Not so much this model, but the other models on their swimsuit page. I’m a better airbrush artist than this and I only play around giving myself extra phantom arms and ears. {what? don’t judge 🙂 }

I’m surprised people aren’t boycotting based on their marketing pictures, but there you have it. I still like the swimsuit, but I can’t buy it and support that kind of crappy female imagery.

Kiss Me Deadly Does Swimwear!

Shake a tail feather my friends… this day is worth celebrating!

Hallooooo Friday! Won’t you join me in a happy Friday dance my darling Swimwear and Lingerie friends.

It couldn’t come fast enough this week, that waterpark has been gurgling my name and distracting me all week.

So, I decided not to fight it and just let myself cruise around on the internetz and see what lovely swimwear related things I could churn up and lo and behold…POOF…I found that Kiss Me Deadly has brought out a line of vintage styled swimsuits!

Hands down my favourite of all the designs. I love the playsuit cut, the checkered fabric… this is the perfect swimsuit as far as I am concerned.

This is a strong contender for my most favourite, which is odd, because I’m usually not a fan of ruching in a one piece swimsuit. But the colour is dazzling, the halter neckline is so flattering… it just works.

I still love the Jojo Check the best… but it’s pretty close! Wish me luck tomorrow…Fingers crossed for great weather and nice, polite crowds… 🙂

I was just thinking how it’s really freakin’ hot outside and how I loathe swimsuit shopping in general.

So very stinking hot outside!

So, knowing that I would rather get a recreational mamogram, than voluntarily go through the soul crushing process of finding a swimsuit, in a style I like, in a price point that won’t kill my budget and that shows off all my attributes while camoflaging my less than pointy parts…

The fact that I’m ravenously coveting everysingle design from What Katie Did‘s Swimwear Collection should tell you plenty!

You know what though? That striking red and cream suit comes in a one piece that has just jumped to the front of my want list. Look at the classic detailing and lines. It’s so very figure flattering and fun… yup I’m definitely in deep smit with it.

My only hold out would be due to the fact the tea-coloured water in my lake might not agree with the light coloured trim… So I would have to have one suit for dry land fun and one for swimming silliness. Doesn’t seem like a bad thing to me!

Yah, I have to agree with good old Hattie. It’s way more fun to just be myself… never mind. I doubt I’ll do anything controversial, certainly wasn’t trying to last weekend, but I won’t actively avoid it either.

Pin Up Wednesday: Tiny bikini, palm trees and clunky sandals edition!

Hiya Swimwear and Lingerie fans.

I’ve come to the realization that I won’t be eligible for a vacation yet again this year and am now seriously pining for the beach.

Typical right?

In order to pacify my pathetic need to want what I can’t have, I’ve found a lovely little beach pin up for our viewing pleasure.

She has a pretty sweet little swimwsuit on {how awesome are those bottome? they look good and look comfortable too!} and I’m actually really digging her rather clompy foot wear choice, too.

I like that she hasn’t been given the Jessica Rabbit proportions favoured by some artists and instead is working her look with just a smirky little smile.

Until further notice, I’ll be pretending to be her, so if you see me outside eating my lunch on the corporate lawn, pretending to adjust the ties on my bottoms… just shrug and mark it up to a serious lack of down time.

Sadly inspired by Bali suits are the closest I'm going to get to Bali anytime soon! Either way, I'd be wearing an awesome suit though.

They take pride in the fact that their suits are each designed and produced in limited quantity in the United States.

Swimsuit Montages For All My Friends

Happy Friday Swimwear and Lingerie Fans!!! Wahoooo the weekend is officially here!

It’s Free-for-All Friday and I was thinking about how we never really seem to focus on swimwear anymore, and by “we”, I of course mean “Me”. So very sorry about this grave oversight.

Then I started trying to think of ways to rectify such a glaring mistake and lo and behold… I had an epiphany!!!! What’s more swimwear-ish then Baywatch? And I’m talking classic, super music-video-esque early Nineties Baywatch too!

Now get your popcorn ready and thank your lucky stars that retro swimwear seems to have abolished these ridiculously high-cut legs. If these women can’t make them look good, then it’s pretty safe to say that no one can!

So, with no further delay, I present you Baywatch doing what Baywatch does best… “The Montage” {and it’s set to one of my favourite artists too! Gotta love Enya!}

Bra Comedy A La Maggie

Happy Thursday my dearest darling swimwear and lingerie friends.

The weekend is so close, you can almost smell it! Or is that my bra? I’ve had a bit of a slow down in the laundry department lately and quite frankly, recycling may be good for the planet, but not when it comes to your under-jubliees.

For Fitting Tip Thursday I thought we would start a Jeff Foxworthy type of segment.

Got the idea? {I just adore the way he does the “Huuuueeeieeee” sound… I can’t do that, I try and fail big time. Maybe I just need to practice more, but I think it may have something to do with geography too}

Then here we go!

When you bend over to hug your kid or partner and they scream out in pain, because the center gore of your underwire bra just poked out their eye…

Friday Funnies: Swimsuit Edition + A Bit of Dancing!

Seriously! You just can’t watch that without grinning ear to ear!

I have a little swimwear humour for us today, although when I say humour, I think it falls more under the cruelly sardonic category more than anything. Frankly, I think she looks lovely and if she’s comfortable then she should wear the darn outfit with pride!

But I might be a bit sensitive about size. {and maybe about age too…} I think I need a little more Carlton to make me giggle again. He’s just awesome 🙂
